There are many reasons why black ops is a great game, the visual effects, the controls, the instant gratification of virtually killing (being better than) others, the amount of tools to kill them with, the ability to sh!t talk all you want, but there is something even more addictive that many may not realize is drawing them in.

The games ability to track your progress and give feedback is by far the biggest emotional draw to the game. When you complete a contract, or get past a certain point in your “career” you get a virtual pat on the back that doesn’t happen as often as it should in real life, online. It really motivates you to keep on playing. I often find myself staying online longer than I planned because I need to just finish that last contract, or just get the last headshot for the pro version of a perk.

My friend even asked if he could use my gamer tag because he got to rank 50 on his 15th prestige. So how can you rack up the points to get more of that addictive praise?

I play hardcore free for all more than anything else, but the below ten tips should help in almost any game type:

Get started early a lot of people in FFA sit at their spawn and wait. Go shoot them. Once you know where the spawn points are Jr is easy to rack up 5 kills within seconds of the game starting.

Use your pistol, especially when you first start a match. (you run / move faster)

Patrol an area, don’t let anything move by or through it. Don’t camp, but pick out a building and patrol all entry points and windows.

Don’t use the action buttons, like the ones on radiation to close the missile doors. Unless you are drawing people to your position on purpose.

Use surround sound.

Always sit in the same place. The precise angle you look at the screen effects your ability to aim down the sight. You’ll notice yourself aim just a bit to the left or right everytime you move even the slightest.

Use different perks, killstreaks and guns to rack up the points that are available for the first 20 kills, 10 headshots, and so on.

Use a red dot on a piece of transparent tape and place it over the red dot on your sight to hone your precision.

I hope that you don’t use these to kill me, sirsyco2203, but you should be able to get through your prestige levels faster now that you have some insight.

Gamefly, the Netflix for video games has officially surpassed the ease of use, and overall experience of their cohort. While Netflix shows old ass movies under the New Releases section….. Gamely, actually has the new releases in the new release section…. Furthermore Gamefly has awesome games to rent, and most of them are available within a “short wait” unlike netflix’s messed up take too long to send the cool stuff service. Gamefly sends them sooner, rather than later. Not sure if that has to do with a closer hub to my city, but it is apparent.

If only they can come up with a play now button?

I would very much recommend gamefly for any gamer, and will warn you if anything better comes along.

As an avid player of the Modern Warfare series, I really think the exploding arrows, are awesome…. I actually don’t know why they are in the game? Maybe an homage to Gears of war? The trailer makes the game as a whole look like an exciting new twist on the old time favorite. I hope you enjoy the trailer, and the game.

When playing online, you have to sign in to EA before you can play live. Microsoft, should ban games that ask for personal information, I do not want to receive e-mails from these Canadian whacks. I mean the ending of Army of Two part one was the gayest game ending ever, and this is already a bad start.

The New Mario Brothers Wii game for Wii is an amazingly fun time. I’ve recently been playing games like Modern Warefare 2 on Xbox, and love the first person shooter genre. There is something about this game, whether it be the outrageously funny social interaction as you jump on your friends head and send them into an abyss of darkness leading to their inevitable death. (on Accident) Or the difficulty of timing every move you make to finish the course with a 1up on the flagpole.

The New Mario Brothers Wii brings back fond memories of childhood gaming along with amazingly new twists, in a not so apparent 3d world. The graphics are still 100% Nintendo, and that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The simplicity of the game makes it easy for my 5yr old step daughter to join along in the fun. As of yet, I have only played in two player, and cannot fathom the amazing coordination and team work it would take to complete a four player game. Guess it is time to get two new controllers.
