If you want to be tricked into watching old movies…. Netflix is the best choice for you. I don’t know why they have a section called new releases with movies like: Con-Air, Ghost, and Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless mind. Great movies, but they shouldn’t be in the new release section of any brick and mortar movie rental place. Nonetheless, a modern, and “smart” movie rental business like netflix. Why would they subject you to a “recommended for you” section full of old ass movies. I guess it is cheaper for them to get you to rent an old movie than to have to buy extra new releases? It seems to me that Netflix is doing a huge dis-service to their clients.

With major revenues coming in from a great idea like online ship to your door movies. Why don’t they just start a side business that sells extra new movies cheaper? I guess they already have it, but they don’t market it… Maybe they can make up the cost of buying all the new DVD’s that they need with the sales of the older ones. Maybe push the idea that if you love the movie, you can take it off your queue and buy it for only $9.99? Of course they would have to cross refference the movies you’ve already watched to make it make sense, and work. But that shouldn’t be too hard for a multi-billion dollar company like netflix.

I truly hope that a competitor figures out this dis-service, and uses it against them. It would be great for them to know that people really only wish to watch new releases when they are browsing the new release section of your site. Really, what is miss congeniality doing in the new release section. It is at least 5 years old. Let me know if you think I’m wrong…… Oh yeah, so here is the trick. In the new releases section is a really crappy movie with a 3 star rating recommended for you, and you’ve never heard of it. The movie cover looks interesting. You click add to queue, and viola…. You are tricked into renting a crappy old movie that was a complete waste of Netflix’s and your time. WTF

Last night My Fiance, some friends, and myself watched the movie she’s out of my league. It was reminiscent of american pie, but more “romantic” and a lot funnier. The main character finds himself in a position where a much hotter girl is in to him. That much is apparent by the title. The movie is predictable enough to have an ending that you would expect. The way that the director takes the movie in and out of awkward situations, funny phrases, and guy get’s girl romance. That will have any guy watching it, laughing their a$$ off, and women excited about whatever makes them excited about boy meets girl.

If there was one complaint that I had about the movie it would have to be that there was much talk about the main girl being a perfect 10. While she looks older than the main character, and not as hot as they make her sound. In fact all tens that are talked about as such, are more like 7′s in hollywood eyes. Not until you see the main girl in her underwear do you really see the 10 in her. Other than that slight hiccup, I’d say that there were not many slow parts, and the movie was well worth watching.

James Cameron’s new Avatar movie is all the buzz this sumer, but some people have given it a bad wrap in all personal reviews. I’ve heard that the movie was long, that there wasn’t a real storyline, but that’s all nonsense. Sure, the movie was long, could have been condensed, but it wasn’t a complete waste of time. In fact, I rather enjoyed being in another world for three hours. With the stereoscopic 3D, landscapes, floating mountains, and half naked alien humanoids. I rather enjoyed the action, and storyline. In some instances it is sad because, when we do find some far away planet. I can see there being the same issues that come up. The guy with the gun always has the most power, and humans probably will kill all life on another planet just for a rock. Some of it is far fetched yet still enjoyable. Like the brain connection through the hair, and the tree holding the memories of the past. The symbolism, and real life tie ins to the indigenous on earth make it quite compelling. All in all, I’d give it two thumbs up….
