Apple OSX snow leopard vs Windows 7

I’ve used apple OSX since 10.0 at work, but in the same respect I grew up using windows as many of us did. Now I’m not exactly sure when OSX came onto the scene.  It must have been since 2004 or so, and it was up against windows XP. Now without a doubt Windows XP was the best of the best when it came out. That said, when OSX came out, the sheer amazement I had in how beautiful the layout, the dock, the ease of use. I mean to uninstall something you throw it in the trash. No opening a specific program, no searching. You just throw it in the trash bin and hit empty trash. So very very poetic in a sense.

Against XP, OSX was a huge jump into the future when it was released. Now it seems Windows vista was an effort to copy mac OSX, and windows 7 was released as a fix to all the problems windows vista. Windows 7 is alot smaller in disk space than its predecessor, and is smaller than snow leopard. That doesn’t mean it will end up smaller after all the updates, all the service packs. Also, it has a snap window feature that snow leopard doesn’t have, but that is about the end of the features.

My favorite thing about OSX, is that it doesn’t have Viruses, or Spyware, or pop up crap. You almost never need to re-install the OS, and it is simply easy to use.

There isn’t anything that I can think of that is better in any way about windows 7.  Now that Snow Leopard is OSX’s 6th year in use, it is still 6 years ahead of Windows 7. Which is kind of ironic since the new windows is labeled 7.

In my personal opinion, I hate using windows at my house, and wish I could afford the iMac, or Mac Book Pro. And that is the only problem with Apple, the cost is too high for those of us that don’t have a large disposable income. So, if you can afford a Mac, and are looking for a new computer, don’t hesitate. The pop up, and spam problems in windows will waste your time.
